Responsibilities

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Software Test Engineer Lead (SME) to provide Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Operational Command and Control (C2) Acquisition Delta responsible for developing software and the supporting architecture for the organize, understand, plan, decide, direct, and monitor capabilities within the C2 Joint Capability Areas (JCAs). A successful candidate should be a self-starter who possess es initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and a proven problem solver .

J ob responsibilities will include , but may not be limited to:

• Provid ing test lead expertise to software system development

• U nderstand ing software system architecture, design , and subsystems integration

• Understand ing software test limitations and ensure test execution is accomplished within the constraints of system limitations

• Revi ewing software systems, sub-systems, and components to ensure proper test plans and data collection in test ing

• Possess ing knowledge of data collection systems to coordinate proper set up in support of test activities

• Lead ing and participat ing in test event planning, test execution, data management, data collection and data distribution

• Monitor ing performance parameters of experimental and operational systems during test ing

• Reviewing the development of the overall plans such as the TEMP, Test Points, test cards, etc .

• Provid ing integrated engineering support for design reviews, test planning working groups, test card prep, execution, and post -test reports

• Participat ing in and support test program for design reviews, schedul ing meeting s , liais ing with test ranges , coordinating with stakeholders

• Coordinat ing and provid ing requirements for test venues, test assets and participants across the stakeholders

• Appl ing technical expertise to assess test range, system , or technology project readiness for testing and advis ing senior government personnel on test readiness

• Prepar ing mission execution schedules, logistics coordination and track status and risk

• Oversee ing contractor and government test activities

• Provid ing integrated test support for design reviews, test strategy development, test planning working groups, and other similar test related forums

• Oversee ing execution of complex test events in accordance with test engineering documentation and packages

• Linking test results back to requirements to ensure the goals have been met

• Prepar ing briefings and, when needed, attend ing on behalf of the program manager to ensure maximum engagement between the program manager's team and stakeholders

• Understan ding complex technical and operational information and implications and synthesiz ing it effectively for various audiences and purposes

• Analyz ing potential programmatic decisions and provid ing clear concise advice on tradeoffs and implications of decisions and outcomes

Qualifications

Required Experience:

• 15 years of relevant DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience

• 5 years of e xperience as a Test Director and performing Test Conductor operations

• 5 years of experience in DoD and /or commercial SATCOM and network engineering

• 5 years of experience with military space systems and protected MILSATCOM systems

• At least 2 years' of Special Access Programs (SAP) experience

• Familiar with AFMAN 63 - 119 and AFI 99 - 103

• Experience with DoD/USAF test processes and documentation

• Experience with aspects of systems engineering such as requirements elicitation, analysis, derivation and traceability, functional analysis and allocation, WBS, trade studies, modeling and simulation, metrics, risk management, integration and test, verification and validation

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Extremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a fast-paced team environment

• Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, specifically attention to detail along with effective time and project management skills

• Experience with presenting and communicating technical data to various audiences (government and leadership audience experience preferred)

• Willingness to mentor colleagues

Desired Experience:

• Familiarity with the software factory p latform diagrams

• Experience working on a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) or Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contract

Education /Certification Requirements:

• B.S. in engineering , mathematics, physics, or related scientific discipline

• M.S. degree in related STEM field

Security Clearance Level Required:

• Top Secret ( Must be a U.S. Citizen)

• SCI eligible

• SAP eligibility

• Place of work is El Segundo, CA area , remote work opportunity is limite d

• May require travel up to 2 0 % of time within the continental United States

The pay range for this position in California is $160,000/year to $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
