Special Security Representative, Jr Level I

Key Roles:
Support the administration of U.S. government as a security specialist. Serve as alternate Special Security Representative (SSR) to oversee the day-to-day operations of a Secure Facility, including managing and monitoring all access and administration duties. Assist in overseeing multidiscipline security programs to detect, deter, and identify security risks to organizational personnel, assets, and information. Support clearance processing, visit certifications, document control, personnel security, information security, and physical security, including alarm response for controlled areas. Facilitate the implementation of the Intelligence Community Directives, Department of Defense (DoD) and United States Navy policies and regulations regarding security operations.

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience performing work related to safeguarding U.S. government sensitive and classified information and materials

• Experience as a SSR or Contractor Special Security Representative (CSSR) performing functions to manage day-to-day operations in a Secure Facility

• Possesses a background in one or more of the security disciplines (Physical, Information, Personnel, and Operational) and a willingness/desire to gain proficiency in performing in all disciplines

• Provide daily support to the appointed Supervisor to fully implement all applicable enhanced security policies and procedures

• Experience with clearance processing, visit certifications, foreign travel briefings and debriefings, personnel security, information security, and physical security, including alarm response for controlled areas associated with SCI security programs

• Experience in database functions, including Defense Information System for Security (DISS)

• Monitor and control access to facility(s) and restricted areas under their responsibility by checking personnel visitor passes, Common Access Cards (CAC) and validating security clearances utilizing DISS or other security database systems and visit requests. Shall maintain facility visitor logs

• Shall support the preparation and submission of all required paperwork for nomination packets and indoctrination/debriefing documentation

• Active TS/SCI clearance



Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently with minimal guidance

• Ability to provide clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal communication

• Skill in satisfactorily dealing with customers

• Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment

• Experience and knowledge of a variety of computer software applications to include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

Minimum/ General Experience:
• At least two (2) years of recent and relevant experience working in Security related field

Minimum Education:
• High School Diploma or GED. Prefer associate degree
Security Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Active TS/SCI clearance is required for applicants
