Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Systems Engineering & Design: Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of critical systems to support mission success.
• Cloud & Platform Deployment: Lead the deployment and management of cloud-based systems, focusing on AWS services (S3, EBS, EC2), and containerization technologies.
• Automation & DevOps: Implement automated deployment pipelines, leveraging DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies to enhance system efficiency, security, and scalability.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Networking: Manage cloud database, storage, virtualization, and network configurations to optimize system performance.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and maintain DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless updates and operations in a multi-tenant environment.
• Automated Quality & Security: Integrate automated software quality checks, security scanning, and infrastructure-as-code practices into the development lifecycle.
• System Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that all systems meet operational requirements.
• Requirements Tracking & Documentation: Utilize JIRA or Confluence for requirements tracking, ensuring alignment with program goals and security standards.
• Cloud Accreditation: Work to ensure systems are accredited within the Sponsor's cloud environment according to established security requirements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• ElasticSearch Expertise: Proven experience working with ElasticSearch, including setup, configuration, and optimization.
• AWS Cloud Services: Demonstrated experience with AWS tools such as S3, EBS, and EC2 for cloud-based deployment and management.
• Automation & Deployment: Strong background in platform and application automated deployment, with expertise in DevOps and containerization.
• Cloud & Virtualization: In-depth knowledge of cloud environments, database management, storage, virtualization, and network configurations.
• CI/CD & DevSecOps: Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines and automating quality checks and security scans in a multi-tenant environment.
• Linux/Unix Systems: Experience working within Linux and Unix-based operating systems, with a strong focus on performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• ElasticSearch & Kibana: Hands-on experience using ElasticSearch and Kibana for monitoring and logging in cloud environments.
• System Management & Troubleshooting: Proven ability to install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Requirements Tracking Tools: Experience with JIRA or Confluence for managing system requirements, project tracking, and documentation.
• Cloud Security & Accreditation: Experience working to ensure systems meet the security and accreditation standards of cloud environments, particularly in government settings.

Highly Desired Skills and Experience:

• Data Management & ETL Tools: Experience with DataCTRL ETL and NiFi for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Data Management Expertise: Strong background in data management, ensuring seamless integration and movement of data across platforms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience and certifications.

Position Clearance Requirement:

TS/SCI with FSP
