Valiant Integrated Services has an exciting opportunity for an Exercise Planner to support the AC/S for Operations (G3) for the U.S. Marine Corps Forces – Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF) Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Office (CBRN). The Exercise Planner will assist in leading exercise planners in planning, execution, and assessment of CBRN Defense and CWMD activities during exercises.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Plans and coordinates USMC participation in assigned joint and service (Title 10) exercises.
• Ensures exercise purpose, exercise objectives, training audience, and training objectives support the MARFOREUR/AF Campaign Plan and Command Training Plan.
• Coordinates across the MARFOREUR/AF staff in order to integrate the appropriate level of staff oversight and participation in exercise planning and execution.
• Ensures assigned exercise and events are coordinated with all stakeholders to include respective combatant command headquarters, other service component and subunified command headquarters, exercise participants, the host- nation and other allied armed forces participants, interagency partners, international organizations, and respective U.S. Embassy personnel.
• Coordinates with stakeholder organizations on realistic, current, and relevant CWMD and CBRN training and exercise to address Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC) and MARFOREUR/AF requirements.
• Coordinates and sources exercise participants.
• Determines exercise funding requirements and sources and manages exercise budget.
• Drafts, coordinates, and provides in-progress reviews (IPRs) and exercise confirmation briefs at an appropriate level consistent with event scope and objectives, up to and including briefs at the combatant commander and ambassadorial.
• Ensures exercise participants understand mission, intent, concept of operations, RSO&I requirements, liberty regulations, etc.
• Maintains a common operational picture (COP) for assigned exercises by keeping exercise portal pages, concept slides, the Joint Training Tool (JTT), and the Command and Control in the Information Environment (C2IE) data.
• Coordinates assessment and after-action reviews for assigned exercises.
• Plans, organizes, and conducts exercise planning conferences to support the five stages of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC).
• Managing and accomplishing duties related to analytical research, policy development, and special programs, as related to CWMD and CBRN Defense.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Possesses U.S. Citizenship, a valid U.S. Driver’s License, and a valid U.S. tourist passport.
• Has completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase 1.
• Must be able and willing to travel anywhere in the United States and the EUCOM and AFRICOM Areas of Responsibility.
• Must be able and willing to travel frequently (may be up to 25%).
• Must be able to work extended hours in support of exercise requirements.
• Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing, and able to brief senior military leaders.
• Must perform activities with a very high degree of attention to detail.
• Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
• Fluency with Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) concepts is preferred.
• 3+ years of joint exercise planning experience at the service component- or combatant command- level, and demonstrating fluency with joint operations, the Joint Training System, and the Joint Training Tool.
Physical Requirements:
• Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
