Job Summary:
We are seeking an electronically inclined candidate with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and time management. This role involves working hands-on providing maintenance and technical support required for ancillary facilities, modifications, firmware updates and installation of new Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and security devices in buildings and magazines located at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane
Essential Functions:
- Support the installation of security systems, digital video surveillance systems, and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors as required by NSWC Crane Security Office
- This Security System Specialist shall provide technical support, modifications, yearly maintenance, inspections, trouble-shooting, firmware updates and repair of the on-site AMAG and Vindicator Security Systems, American Dynamics and Pelco Digital Video Surveillance Systems, and various security related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras and infrared motion detectors in all buildings located at NSA Crane that are part of either the AMAG or Vindicator security systems
- AMAG knowledge desired but not required
- Establish a schedule for travel and coordination to maximize facility time
- Facilitate customer changes, coordinated site review and training, and customer relations follow-up
- This position requires a sense of urgency, attention to detail, flexibility within constraints of defined processes, ability to multi-task and the ability to work independently and with a team in secure areas
- The ideal candidate must be motivated, professional in demeanor, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Candidate will be required to follow all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur
- Must be willing to cross-train into other types of equipment and systems as required
- May be contacted after hours and on weekends (on personal cell phone) for emergency response support for security issues infrequently
Experience and Skills:
- High School diploma required; technical school diploma or prior military experience preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in an environment focused on troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electrical systems.
- Strong electrical aptitude and hands-on experience using hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety protocols, especially when working with power.
- Capable of using basic inspection and maintenance tools
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency in day-to-day performance
- May be contacted after hours (on personal cell phone) for emergency response support for security issues infrequently
- Possess a valid state driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks involving bending, reaching, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a laboratory or field setting, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
