Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Software Lead Engineer to drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex software solutions. The ideal candidate will lead a team of software engineers, provide technical guidance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software procducts that meet the customer and project requiremnment. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and project management in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering skill development and ensuring best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, systems, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of deliverables.
• Architect and design software systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, and quality assurance processes.
• Manage project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovations to improve products and processes.
• Maintain and document technical specifications, development standards, and system architectures.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of technical leadership.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or C#.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
• Experience with software architecture and design patterns.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in a technical capacity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in industries with stringent software quality requirements, such as aerospace, automotive, or defense.
• Knowledge of cloud-based architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with real-time systems, embedded software, or safety-critical applications.
• Certifications in software development or project management, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
