Location: Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (DMV Region)

HigherEchelon Inc., is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to drive growth efforts in the HESFP Salesforce Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to grow HigherEchelon's federal and state/local Salesforce portfolio by leading business development, capture, and solutioning efforts. To be successful, the candidate will own the pursuit of major opportunities, and coach the team on smaller opportunities. Under this person's guidance, HESFP will create compelling and compliant technical solutions for RFIs and RFPs and will provide quick-turn, short duration task and contract responses. The selected candidate will have the ability and desire to provide hands-on writing of technical responses and will mentor their subordinates on improving this skill throughout the practice.

The successful candidate will have a history of leading, composing, and winning technical Salesforce-centric proposal efforts for formal government evaluation, demonstrated leadership experience, the ability to perform well under pressure, possess a can-do attitude and be able to guide a team to solve difficult problems. The successful candidate will understand the federal Business Development and proposal development process and how to apply their technical skills to guide the rest of the Sales resources accordingly. Successful candidates will understand how to generate highly scoring proposal responses per government evaluation instructions. For major opportunities, the Director/VP of Sales will orchestrate the proposal process and be expected to adapt to HigherEchelon proposal processes and tools. For smaller proposal efforts, the Director/VP of Sales will serve as a coach to members of the Sales team to help them execute successfully.

Job Responsibilities:

• This role will be 70% oriented to top opportunity execution, with the remaining focus being on Sales Leadership and Best Practices execution through the extended team.

• Develop a sales action plan to prospect, acquire, and maintain new business relationships.

• Establish and maintain relationships with public sector Salesforce Account Executives and other stakeholders in the Salesforce ecosystem, including partners, third-party software vendors, and resellers.

• Work in collaboration with the Salesforce leaders and Co-Founder to identify targeted accounts and opportunities to pursue for long-term public-sector growth.

• Identify and source Salesforce business leads using publicly available data sources, as well as relationships with Salesforce ecosystem stakeholders.

• Perform Business Development, Capture, and Proposal activities.

• Understand and apply the Salesforce ecosystem and product lines to solve customer pain points and shape opportunities for future mission needs.

• Respond to federal and state/local Requests for Information (RFIs)/Sources Sought notices and engage with government contracting and program office personnel to shape business requirements.

• Develop high-level Salesforce solutions during the proposal process using knowledge of core Salesforce products (e.g., Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, etc.)

• Lead proposal responses by drafting Technical Approach, Management Approach, Staffing Plan, and other sections as needed.

• Work with Salesforce during the proposal process to identify the most cost-effective Salesforce license mix for public sector customers based ontheir requirements.

• Attend public sector Salesforce ecosystem events and other federal tradeshows/conferences as needed.

• Support demo builds and other short-term projects using Salesforce configuration experience (optional).

Required Skills:

• Experience with government contracts.

• Experience writing proposals for government and commercial programs.

• Proven success record of winning contracts.

• Good private and public sector client prospects and relationships.

• Ability to communicate the organization's vision and mission to external audiences

• Ability to take initiative and actively source new business opportunities.

• Must have working knowledge of core Salesforce products/capabilities, such as Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud.

• Strong writing skills and familiarity with the public sector business development process. Previous experience writing public sector RFI and proposal responses is a must.

• Familiarity with IT project delivery principles - e.g., Agile, Human-Centered Design, project management best practices (preferred).

• Familiarity with configuring the Salesforce platform and technical Salesforce concepts - e.g., data models, security models.

• Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.

• Eligible to obtain and maintain Government Public Trust Clearance if needed

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required

• At least four (4) years working in a Salesforce or public sector business development/capture/proposal writing role.

• Experience with Salesforce's Public Sector Solutions product set (preferred)

• Experience and understanding of software development methodologies, e.g., Agile.

• Existing relationships with public sector Salesforce Account Executives (preferred).

• Experience working with U.S. federal civilian agencies (ex. DHS, HHS, USDA, etc.) (preferred).

• Salesforce Certified Administrator or Certified Associate (preferred).

• Maintain Salesforce certifications and be willing to assign them to HigherEchelon; seek to earn additional certifications for Salesforce.

• US. Citizenship is required

• Eligible to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance if needed
