ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and client-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a Hybrid position. In this role, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of advanced data science capabilities to achieve client mission goals. You will collaborate with a team of consultants, engineers and data scientists to leverage AI, data science and machine learning to deliver solutions to clients. The ideal candidate will have solid data science skills, a firm understanding of machine learning frameworks, and client-oriented approach to applying technology to complex problems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform experiments to evaluate emerging and fast-changing data science and related technologies, such as generative AI, quantum, and explainable AI techniques.
- Perform benchmarking evaluations and applied research to address new problem sets. Seek out opportunities to apply new and emerging techniques to client use cases.
- Develop models and solutions applied to problem sets in a broad range of data science areas, including but not limited to natural language processing, graph analytics, computer vision, anomaly detection, geo-spatial analysis, and data visualization.
- Contribute to the development of solution accelerators, prototypes, and proofs-of-concept for use client engagements.
- Apply design thinking or other solution-based methods to solve problems consisting of various qualitative activities that support the generation of insightful, human-centered and impactful design solutions.
- Perform knowledge elicitation from client of business problem details and incorporate that knowledge into algorithms, models, and approaches in client solutions.
- Participate in solution development through whiteboarding sessions with clients, partners, and coworkers.
- Communicate findings to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders and engage clients by effectively conveying complex technical concepts.
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Data Science service offerings from one or more cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Oracle, IBM, Azure and GCP).
- Experience working with Python or R programming languages for data science.
- Experience constructing and performing complex database search queries.
- Knowledge of the full life cycle of development for a variety of types of Machine Learning models.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellence in client-facing discussions and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field and 2 years of experience OR a Master's degree and equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in a related field.
- Experience with analyzing and reporting on diverse data.
- Expertise in one or more data science specialties, such as natural language processing, computer vision, or deep learning.
- Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating information to a senior executive audience.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must have active/current Secret clearance or higher with ability to obtain TS/SCI w/ polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and clients, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
