Job Summary

B&A is looking for a COTS specialist with expertise in SAP and ServiceNow solutions to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Specialist with specific expertise in SAP and ServiceNow solutions to join our team. The COTS Specialist will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing COTS software solutions to meet organizational needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software applications, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assess organizational needs and identify appropriate COTS software solutions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential COTS vendors and products, with a focus on SAP and ServiceNow solutions.

  • Evaluate software based on functionality, cost, scalability, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Develop implementation plans for selected COTS solutions.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT staff, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Configure software to meet organizational requirements and ensure integration with existing systems, with an emphasis on SAP and ServiceNow software.

  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and support of COTS software.
  • Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, particularly with SAP and ServiceNow systems.

  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to users experiencing software-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of software configurations, processes, and procedures.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing and managing COTS software solutions, with significant portions involving SAP and ServiceNow systems.

Required Skills
  • Proficiency in software evaluation and selection processes.
  • Experience with software configuration and integration.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and software development life cycle.
  • Strong familiarity with SAP and ServiceNow solutions and their implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Desired Skills
  • Certification in SAP, ServiceNow, project management or relevant IT certifications.
  • Experience with enterprise-level software solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software and services.
