Position: Software Engineer Level 3
This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems. The ideal candidate has experience with high-performance analytics, large data processing, real-time systems, and cloud-based infrastructure.
Please Note: Candidates must currently hold an active Full Scope Poly clearance to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, algorithm development, and real-time systems.
Work independently or as part of a team to design, implement, and test software solutions.
Utilize modern software development methodologies to ensure performance, scalability, and security.
Conduct software component reviews to ensure adherence to design requirements.
Resolve software problem reports and provide system enhancements.
Contribute to system design by analyzing hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS integration.
Required Technologies & Skills:
Kubernetes (K8s) App Development & Containerization
Linux/RHEL administration (Storage, Interface Management, Hardening, Patching)
Ansible (or similar automation technologies)
Virtualization/VMWare (AWS, Azure, or similar cloud providers)
Microservices, Bash scripting, GitLab, Helm charts, Jira
Desired Technologies & Skills:
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar certification
GitOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Unit Testing, Python
Ingress/Egress Networking, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Infrastructure Developer/Kubernetes Administrator Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes platform infrastructure.
Produce and maintain functional Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) based on ticket requirements.
Implement security policies, monitoring, logging, storage solutions, and backup/recovery solutions.
Assist with DevOps trend research and ensure best practices align with SSP(s) & ISSO(s).
Provide Level of Effort (LOE) forecasting with the DevOps Lead & Project Managers.
Qualifications:
Active Full Scope Poly clearance (Mandatory)
20+ years of experience as a Software Engineer on projects of similar scope and complexity.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
