Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:
The role involves designing cloud-based DevOps solutions, selecting effective toolsets, and managing CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in cloud architecture, networking, AWS administration, Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline maintenance is essential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partner with development and operations teams to assess project requirements and design scalable, secure, and maintainable cloud and DevOps solutions.
- Evaluate and choose toolsets based on functionality, support, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain, enhance, and automate CI/CD infrastructure and software lifecycle processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues across various platforms and applications.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of data engineering and high-performance computing solutions.
- Create and manage Kubernetes clusters and oversee deployments using YAML and Helm.
- Implement configuration management through tools such as Ansible.
- Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Ensure cloud security within AWS using native tools, including IAM and Organizations Service Control Policies.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in information systems, server, or network administration.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting AWS-based DevOps solutions with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Expertise in Linux administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash.
- Comprehensive experience in AWS administration (e.g., IAM, VPC, Route53, EC2, S3, EFS, Lambda, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, SNS).
- Experience managing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
- Skilled in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Database development and administration experience (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Neo4j).
- Knowledge of log management, resource monitoring, and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Elasticsearch).
- Proficient in source control concepts and tools, including git workflows, branching, and versioning (GitHub, GitLab).
- Familiarity with standard DevOps security practices.
Desired Skills:
- Background in data engineering and backend development for high-performance computing or machine learning applications.
- Understanding of AWS Organizations, Service Catalog, and relevant security configurations.
- Experience with identity management systems and APIs.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience using cloud development kits, such as AWS CDK and Python Boto3.
Required Education:
- BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
