We are currently seeking a Chief of Staff to support the Program Manager for PEO IWS 80 program for the US Navy, in Crystal City (Arlington) VA. This position is on site 3-4 days per week.
What you'll do:
- Identify issues, create resolutions within established guidelines, and communicate risk to the PM and DPM as appropriate and necessary
- Provide project management and risk management support to key stakeholders supporting SCN and in-service activities
- Serve as a liaison between PEO IWS 80 PAPM, NSWCPHD, and other NAVSEA programs and POCs
- Track and complete key milestones and deliverables with minimal interaction
- Attend meetings and status briefs as required. Make decisions on the PAPM's behalf (as required)
- Bid and proposal support if requested
- Leverage network and resources to accomplish objectives effectively, participate in or lead team initiatives, as needed, and take initiative to improve operations and office best practices within established guidelines
- Provide leadership to other administrative staff
- Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required
- Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC's clients. These requirements are subject to change without advance notice at the discretion of MBC and MBC's clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required
- At least 10 years of experience providing combat systems test, engineering, or integration support in support of New Ship Construction (SCN) and/or in-service amphibious ships
- Prior experience working on an OPNAV staff
- Knowledge of Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) at the operational level
- Must possess expert-level knowledge of the U.S. Navy's Modernization process
- Demonstrated experience supporting New Ship Construction (SCN) projects
- Must be able to proactively engage with Navy leaders (at the O-6 level and above)
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize deliverables
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients
- Attend meetings and provide client support onsite/in person when required
- ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance required
