Five Rivers Analytics, an Akima company, is hiring a Satellite Operations Technician to support the Satellite Control Network Operations, Remote Site and Mission Partner Support (STORMS) contract at Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT). The Satellite Operations Technician executes actions necessary to conduct satellite operations and maintenance required to sustain the operability of communications-electronics equipment located at the Remote Tracking Stations (RTS). Responsibilities

  • Configures, operates and maintains assigned systems during satellite support, test, and maintenance activities.
  • Initiates, directs and verifies completion of all operational events during the acquisition, tracking and commanding functions of each operational support.
  • Performs Senior Contract Representative (SCR) duties, as required.
  • Maintains cognizance of station equipment status.
  • Performs COMSEC duties as required.
  • Assists with repairs and alignment of equipment IAW TOs/TMs or commercial manuals.
  • Assists with Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) activities.
  • Maintains vehicle folders.
  • Prepares daily activity log entries in appropriate electronic systems.
  • Performs all required systems administration on mission related equipment.
  • May assist in providing on-the-job training to trainees as assigned or directed.
  • Performs other collateral duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

  • Active SECRET security clearance, or higher.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Preferred associate degree in Electronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to climb high ladders, work on elevated platforms and antennas.
  • Must be able to perform strenuous physical work to include walking, lifting, pulling loads, bending, kneeling, sitting and reaching overhead.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and clearly speak English.
  • Must be familiar with the use of and be able to operate electronic test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, signal generators, power meters, and data analyzers.
  • Position may require additional government certifications, as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Must have one of the following DoD 8140.03 compliant certifications CompTIA Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP or be able to obtain within 60 days of starting work.
  • CompTIA Security Plus.
