Project Description
The purpose of this project involves a broad set of responsibilities in support of RIVA’s Federal customer’s cybersecurity and IT risk management initiatives. The purpose of these responsibilities is to provide comprehensive, expert cybersecurity support with the following deliverables:
Provide cybersecurity program management support
Ensure cybersecurity documentation is accurate, current, and relevant
Develop and provide training and outreach regarding security to the customer’s employees
Effectively manage agency risk by maintaining visibility across the department
Maintain comprehensive situational awareness of the cyber threat landscape
Reduce cost and optimize agency cybersecurity posture through complexity reduction and automation
Deliver measurable cybersecurity outcomes
Define and/or improve the customer’s cybersecurity framework
Effectively communicate with all parties, especially key stakeholders
Improve regulatory and policy alignment
Improve cybersecurity program business processes
Position Description and Responsibilities
RIVA is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of cybersecurity projects supporting our Federal Government customer. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the latest cybersecurity threats and has hands-on experience in managing security projects. The goal of the cybersecurity project manager is to protect our customer’s digital assets without disrupting the normal operations of the organization.
Develop and manage project plans for cybersecurity initiatives.
Coordinate with IT, engineering, and business teams to ensure the successful execution of security projects.
Identify and mitigate potential security risks.
Ensure all cyber security projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Provide regular reports on the progress of projects to stakeholders.
Develop and implement security policies and protocols.
Stay current with the latest cyber threats and security solutions.
Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
Review new technologies and keep the company at the forefront of developments in cybersecurity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
PMP certified
10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager with 5+ years specific to cybersecurity project management.
Experience in managing IT security projects and knowledge of IT security concepts, best practices, and procedures.
Understanding of cyber security vulnerabilities, threat vectors, and risk management.
Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and data encryption technologies.
Familiarity with web-related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and network/web related protocols.
Ability to manage large, complex projects in a team-oriented environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Federal Government customer support preferred.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
Salary Range: $170-$220k DOE
