Software Developer

Overview

Bowhead seeks a new team member to support the Navy's Hypersonics and Weapons Systems Integration division. Bowhead seeks a Software Developer with C++ experience to develop and maintain software systems modeling effects of weapons against threat systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide software development, modification, production and maintenance of both threat system and weapon system modeling libraries.
• Work closely across software engineers to develop and test rapid prototype systems using an Agile development method.
• Support and develop test procedures to test system functionality and generate software troubleshoot reports.
• Prepare documentation and support configuration management guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of college math (three dimensional Calculus, Physics, Differential Equations) is preferred.
• 15 years of professional technical experience with C++ with specialized experience performing software design, coding and compilation of code; computer or software requirements management, and computer systems or software integration is preferred.
• Experience related to weapons systems and/or Navy programs and C# are a plus.
• Experience with Git and Jira, and unit testing preferred.
• Continuous Integration experience including code coverage, static/dynamic analysis, and automated build processes preferred.
• Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
• Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold an active Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
