Joint Venture Staff Accountant
Location: Remote or Hybrid (Corporate Office - Huntsville, AL)
Description:
Seeking a Joint Venture Staff Accountant to provide accounting support to the finance department and program managers in the Government and Commercial sectors. This position is an individual contributor to support the accounting team for HigherEchelon and its Joint Venture entities. The position has a matrix reporting structure to the company SVP - Finance and direct communication with Program Supervisors and VPs.
Job Responsibilities
Transactional accounting entries and tracking, to include Joint Venture activity.
Producing periodic (monthly, quarterly) activity reports.
Maintain and reconcile GL accounts.
Maintain daily cash flow transactions.
Preparing customer invoices
Receiving and posting cash receipts.
Accounts payable processing.
o Code invoices, set up new accounts.
o Maintain credit card payments and entries.
o Travel and Expense Report processing
Other accounting and program functions as needed.
Required Skills
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and practices
Knowledge of DCAA regulations
Experience with JV Accounting
Experience with Accounting and Travel related computer applications

Government Contract accounting experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Dependability and confidentiality are a must
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-tasking, and managing time effectively to meet deadlines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels in the organization, as well as with vendors, customers, and other business associates
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Able to obtain a security clearance, if needed.
Education and Experience
Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred; may consider other fields of study and equivalent job-related experience
