Job Title: Administrative Consultant (Healthcare/TJC Compliance)
Location: Remote with travel to VISN 4 VA Medical Centers
Contract Type: Consultant/Contractor
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Consultant to collaborate with Clinical Consultants in ensuring that Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical centers are fully prepared for The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation. In this role, you will evaluate and align the administrative operations of the medical centers with TJC standards, ensuring compliance in key areas such as policy review, human resources readiness, credentialing, and staff training. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, a proven track record in TJC compliance assessments, and specific experience within the VHA system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work alongside Clinical Consultants to ensure administrative operations support TJC accreditation requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive policy and procedure reviews, with a focus on administrative functions.
• Assess and review credentialing, human resources readiness, and staff training for compliance with TJC standards.
• Provide recommendations and guidance to VA medical center teams on how to improve administrative practices.
• Support the development of performance improvement initiatives aligned with regulatory compliance.
• Document findings and collaborate with both administrative and clinical teams to address gaps in compliance.
Qualifications:
• TJC Surveyor Credentials or equivalent experience in conducting compliance assessments in healthcare settings.
• Experience working within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) system.
• Expertise in healthcare regulatory standards, policy evaluation, credentialing, and human resources management.
• Proven ability to conduct document reviews and policy assessments related to TJC administrative standards.
• Strong knowledge of administrative policies, including credentialing, staff training, and performance improvement initiatives.
Preferred Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and administrative best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clinical and administrative teams.
• Detail-oriented and able to identify gaps in compliance efficiently.
• Experience with VISN 4 or other VHA networks is a plus.
