Position Overview
C1 Gov is seeking a highly qualified Lead Wired Engineer to manage the wired network infrastructure design, integration, and modernization for a U.S. Air Force project. The Lead Wired Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the wired network, overseeing the full lifecycle of network design through to sustainment. This role requires an expert in enterprise wired networking, particularly with experience in secure, large-scale networks, and holds a Secret-level security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of wired infrastructure, including core, distribution, and access layer components, meeting U.S. Air Force requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including System/Subsystem Design Documents (S/SDD), network diagrams, and other necessary design documentation.
- Technical Leadership and Collaboration:
- Act as the primary technical POC for wired network infrastructure, coordinating with wireless, cybersecurity, and program management teams to ensure an integrated network design and implementation.
- Conduct Preliminary Integration Review (PIR) and Critical Integration Review (CIR) meetings, presenting design updates and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all wired network designs and implementations adhere to DoD security standards, including Zero Trust Network Architecture and specific U.S. Government protocols.
- Oversee testing, validation, and troubleshooting of network hardware and configurations, ensuring performance and security standards are met.
- Sustainment and Support:
- Provide ongoing technical support for the wired infrastructure, overseeing preventive maintenance, incident response, and complex troubleshooting.
- Work closely with the Program Manager and cybersecurity teams on vulnerability management, network optimization, and resolution of critical issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on wired network design and deployment in enterprise or government environments.
- Extensive experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks, VLANs, routing protocols, and network management systems.
- Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent required.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)) are a plus.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret-level clearance (Top Secret may be preferred or required based on project requirements).
