Cryptographic Modernization Analyst
  • Work Schedule: Full-time (5 days) on-site at the start, then potentially relaxed to 3 days a week.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI Required
  • Location: Pentagon
  • Flexibility - 5 days a week on site; potential flexibility for limited remote/hybrid work in the future.
  • Hours - flexible around 9am-3pm core hours

Develops and monitors the implementation of policy and procedures to support information and privacy security goals and operations. Develops changes in policy or strategy to support new initiatives or required changes. Manages information security implications within the organization as directed by leadership. Applies leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts; contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Works on unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision; mentors or supervises employees in both firm and technical competencies. Bachelors degree and 8+ years of directly related experience. Years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree for certain roles. Certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree for certain technical roles.

The Opportunity:

When our country's cyber security is on the line, simply reacting is not enough-we need a plan. And when that plan needs to support DoD Key Management, we need strategic policy development. That's why we need you, a Policy and communication technology specialist with the expertise required to guide a team analyzing the policies that determine our cyber resilience.

As a cyber strategic planning and policy development consultant on our team, you'll oversee staff working on the assessment of the Department of Defense's current cyber policies, the coverage of those policies, and areas of risks. You'll evaluate how policies stack up to regulations, best practices, and industry standards. As you guide your client through understanding acceptable risk and availability, you'll lead the team in the development of a strategic cyber roadmap. You'll work with the client to ensure they operate securely as they navigate an evolving IT environment.

Work with us as we secure The Department of Defense's communication programs through strategic cyber policy development.

Must Have:

  • 12 years technical or cybersecurity experience - 16 in the absence of a technical degree
  • Experience with communication technology or communication security
  • Knowledge of cryptography
  • Knowledge of key management
  • Ability to communicate with senior executives and senior military officers clearly and concisely via oral, written, and visual (presentation/dashboard) formats
  • Clearance - TS/SCI required
  • Education - a bachelor's degree in a technical field is required with an equivalence allowed for an additional four years of experience

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with cryptography as pertaining to key management
  • Knowledge of post quantum cryptography
  • Ability to manage actions and taskers through a standardized government system.
  • Clearance TS/SCI Required
  • Education Technical Degree required
  • Certification - CISSP equivalent or more advanced degree a plus
