IS and Cyber Security Professional – Intermediate | Lackland AFB
OSAAVA Services is seeking a highly skilled IS and Cyber Security Professional – Intermediate to join our dynamic Air Force / Space team supporting the United States Air Force’s 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract. This role will focus on securing and maintaining the cyber security infrastructure for critical Air Force systems and ensuring the resilience of Air Force Information Networks (AFIN).

Key Responsibilities:
Cyber Security Operations:
Administer, operate, update, patch, configure, develop, integrate, install, troubleshoot, and maintain vulnerability management systems, ensuring robust protection across all systems.
Develop and implement IT security policies and standards to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
Work with end users and various departments to identify system needs and ensure security compliance.
Perform vulnerability assessments using Air Force-provided tools, including scanning, tracking, recording, and reporting vulnerabilities.
Report and upload scan results to DISA's Vulnerability Management System (VMS) on a monthly or as-needed basis for review and remediation.
Conduct patch management for servers, workstations, and infrastructure devices to ensure that all systems are secure and up-to-date.
Manage and troubleshoot the Air Force End Point Protection System to safeguard all Air Force client systems.
Ensure compliance with approved security updates, patches, baselines, orders, and network defense directives for all AFIN infrastructure and devices.
Collaboration & Compliance:
Track and document compliance status for all required security patches and updates.
Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure that all systems are operating in accordance with DoD/USAF security policies and standards.
Regularly communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, providing accurate and timely updates on security status and remediation efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of direct or related experience in information security.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university, or 2 additional years of related experience in lieu of degree.
Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification or CompTIA Security+ certification required.
Experience with DoD/USAF information security policies and hands-on experience applying RMF processes and principles.
Familiarity with the development and composition of RMF evidence, control families, and related security artifacts.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to exchange accurate information with management, co-workers, and customers, including through presentations.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active Secret clearance required for consideration.
Eligibility for access to Special Access Program (SAP) information is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
Ability to occasionally move about the office to access files, equipment, etc.
Constant use of a computer and office productivity tools, such as calculators, copy machines, and printers.
Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, which may include delivering presentations or updates.
