The training advisor will consult on CDP's training programs for Department staff on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policies. The incumbent updates training curricula for synchronous and on-demand training to equip Department staff with the skills and knowledge to carry out work on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policies; participates in the delivery of trainings; liaises with government and private sector partners to identify suitable speakers and resources for training programs; and coordinates the delivery of policy updates, educational materials, and other relevant information Department staff through email newsletters and other channels. Specific tasks will include:
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Review and update existing training curricula for synchronous and on-demand training on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policies.
- Develop new training modules as needed.
- Ensure all training curricula meet the latest industry standards and practices.
- Participate in the delivery of trainings to Department staff on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policies.
- Provide subject matter expertise on cyber, digital, and emerging technology policies during the delivery of training.
- Identify government and private sector partners who can provide speakers and resources for training programs.
- Coordinate with partners to secure speakers and resources for training programs.
- Develop and deliver policy updates, educational materials, and other relevant information to Department staff through email newsletters and other channels.
- Ensure all materials are accurate, up-to-date, and meet the needs of Department staff.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, postgraduate degree in a field related to cyberspace and digital policy preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.
- At least one year of work experience relevant to international cyberspace and digital policy.
- Exposure to curriculum design and adult education concepts through formal study or on-the-job experience.
- Adult classroom instruction experiences preferred (can include experience as a teaching assistant during undergraduate or graduate school);
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience communicating both orally and in writing to senior managers.
- Fluency in modern technology collaboration tools including MS Teams, SharePoint, O365; G Suite, etc.
- Adaptability to work flexibly and efficiently in a rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated curiosity in continued learning and growth on the job.
- Openness to critique, curiosity to learn from a spectrum of perspectives, and experience or strong interest in collaborating closely with others.
