What will you be doing?

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and defining system architecture for both new and existing computer systems. This position involves overseeing the entire system development lifecycle, including design, modeling, security, integration, and formal testing. Your expertise will drive the completion of complex engineering projects and ensure the effective operation of critical infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and define system architecture for computer systems, including new implementations and modifications to existing systems.
  • Develop solutions to a range of complex engineering problems, addressing technical challenges across the system lifecycle.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Perform complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to support system development and improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, procedures, and engineering projects.
  • Stay current with rapidly evolving technology trends and advancements.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to less-experienced professionals; may serve as a team or task lead.



QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and work/military experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience with Linux system administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Knowledge of Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Familiarity with Helm charts for Kubernetes package management.
  • Strong skills in automation of system processes and tasks.
Desired Skills:
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, and XenServer/XCP-ng.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, and Capsule technologies.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
  • Experience with Ceph storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with GitLab for version control and CI/CD.
Clearance Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
