This position will fulfill duties as the lead Field Support Representative for a new Installation Counter small Unmanned Aircraft System (I-CsUAS) to be fielded at Marine Corps Bases across the Pacific Region. The initial regional system will be emplaced on Okinawa, Japan; as additional systems are fielded, the position’s scope of technical management and leadership will incrementally grow.
FSR will be trained by the Original Equipment Manufacturers and shall have access to all technical data, documentation and procedures required to operate and maintain I-CsUAS systems. Specific tasks include:
• Possess basic understanding of all I-CsUAS components and how to wire, calibrate, and maintain the system.
• Perform logistics support for fielded I-CsUAS system to include the use of specified maintenance management system, and support demonstrations, testing, evaluations, and training.
• Perform technical inspections, system checks, fault diagnosis, identify the cause of failures, replace Least Replaceable Unit, test and restore systems to full functionality.
• Provide 24/7 response to system issues initiated by the operator or through remote system monitoring capabilities.
• Initiate Trouble Tickets/Work Orders.
• Assist Technical or fly-out support as required.
• Learn to fly various Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles per Part 107 FAA UAS certified operator.
• Conduct operator training and sustainment training as required.
• Assist operators with system optimization to include all aspects of set-up and display.
• Conduct operational support, and maintenance of systems in a variety of locations / environmental conditions to support client operational requirements.
• Conduct basic system software maintenance (install/upgrade load sets, firmware, software upgrades, etc.).
• Conduct hardware replacements and upgrades as required.
• Ensure troubleshooting and repair completed according to contractual requirements, timelines and to meet operational availability.
• Inventory all required spares at each location.
• Respond to emergency requirements as needed.
Experience and Job Skills
FSRs should possess experience in radar, LAAD and/or C-UAS system operations, fielding, and supportability. Knowledge and understanding of radar theory/design, field testing, and electro-mechanical maintenance analysis, including troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair/replace techniques, and documentation is also required. Previous field engineering and equipment fielding experience in support of a defense program is desired. Graduation from a DOD recognized electronics or radar technical school, or course of study is desired. Other specific skills include:
• Ability to work alone or within a group.
• Basic mechanical understanding; experience working with tools.
• Security Technician training (e.g., BICSI, low voltage wiring, fiber, limited system integration).
• Electro-Optic Modulator (EOM) Equipment Training.
• Experience with Radio Frequency transmit and receive technologies.
• Experience with UAS operation & capabilities; and command, control, and guidance systems desired.
• The position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels. Candidate must possess and use a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills in daily interactions with team members, clients, vendors, and end-users.
• Provide level I and level II troubleshooting and maintenance for all OPC hardware and software.
• Eight years of experience in radar, LAAD and/or C-UAS systems operations, fielding, and supportability.
Preferred Experience
• Drone Pilot license (FAA Part 107 Certified)
