SAS requires a CITE Facility Administrator to execute spanning five key disciplines:
Network Management
Network Design/Architecture
Network Systems Engineering
Network Installation/Maintenance
Information Systems Security Engineering
SAS requires experienced Network Managers/Administrators with Radio Frequency systems and components familiarity who are capable of reliably executing the following responsibilities:
Consult and coordinate with external organizations to resolve network, system, server, or other development and test infrastructure issues
Identify and select IT products, tools, services, and infrastructure components for development systems
Strategize/design/select architectures and procedures required to solve complex infrastructure problems
Develop/contribute to/evaluate technical proposals for changes to CITE facility networks
Install and customize as necessary HW and/or SW components into development and test infrastructure computer systems and networks
Maintain computer system and network HW or SW, including UPS network
Manage, monitor, and control networks
Troubleshoot networks, computers, and peripheral devices to isolate causes of failures/issues
Conduct site surveys for IT installations Validate testing and quality assurance of development and test
infrastructure systems
Analyze infrastructure problems to determine technical solutions Identify new and existing products, technologies, and/or architectures to solve design, development, and test problems
Position Specific Requirements
Perform high-level design, specifying system and component performance and interface requirements
Translate conceptual designs into technical specifications Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, configure, and improve development and test infrastructure equipment
Perform all life cycle support: HW, SW, firmware, and configuration upgrades or modifications to currently installed development and test infrastructure equipment
Effect repair and modification of HW components to include micro-soldering to replace components, repair traces to keep systems/devices in operating condition, and facilitate reverse engineering efforts
The specialized skills required for this highly complex role include: Understanding the architecture/topology of SW/HW/networks, including WANs/CANs/LANs, telecommunication systems, their components, and associated protocols and standards
Configuring, managing, and sustaining development and testing network infrastructure and computer systems
Comprehension of the theory, design, and implementation of network architectures
Applying concepts, principles, theories, and methods for designing, development, evaluating, testing, and securing development and testing infrastructure networks
Monitoring and maintaining applications within an IT environment
Expertise in the concepts, principles, theories, and methods for network connectivity (e.g. routing, switching, and IP addressing)
Maintaining awareness of new, emerging, and evolving technology, tools, and trends applicable to mobile/RF development and testing infrastructure networks requirements
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories of telecommunications, including their components and associated protocols and standards, and how they integrate with one another (e.g.
transmissions, switching, routing management)
Experience in the design, implementation, and operation of telecommunications systems
Familiarity with the specifications, uses, and types of security hardware
and software options
Understanding of the concepts and principles of computer security
Using the principles and key elements of Configuration Management to plan, manage, or document the implementation, modification, or integration of systems
Implementing, configuring, and sustaining computer/network security solutions (e.g. encryption, firewalls, anti-virus rule sets, and intrusion detection/prevention systems)
Planning, coordinating, and administering the installation, testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems
Maintaining systems inventory, non-attributable systems matrix, and rack/elevation/room drawings
