Essential Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints and other specifications drawings to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
• Perform layout including selecting, measuring, marking and cutting materials, planning sequences and methods of work.
• Construct, erect and repair buildings and other structures made of wood, steel and other materials.
• Build concrete forms, scaffolding, bridges, trestles, tunnels, shelters, and other structures.
• Install pre-constructed materials/structures such as cabinets/furniture in offices.
• Assembles and installs metal framing and decorative trim for windows, doorways, and vents.
• Install acoustic ceiling grid and tile.
• Knowledgeable of paints, primers, and special coatings.
• Remove and replace damaged or worn-out parts of structures.
• Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• TS Clearance
• Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
