Essential Responsibilities:
• Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures including the interpretation of wiring diagrams, electrical specifications, as-built drawings, and schematics.
• Work from building plans, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to determine the routing placement, type, size, gauge, balance load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
• Inspect and connect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
• Troubleshoot/diagnose electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Tests electrical circuits for resistance, current, and potential difference.
• Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) state and local building regulations.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform general electrical maintenance.
• Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
• TS Clearance
• Proven experience as an Electrician or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and the ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in both low voltage (e.g., lighting, outlets) and high voltage (e.g., circuit breakers, transformers) electrical systems
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve electrical issues.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
