MTV Operator Job Description
The MTV Operator, also known as a Material Transfer Vehicle Operator, is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to transport materials in various industries. This role typically applies to construction settings, but may also be found in manufacturing or warehousing environments.
Responsibilities:
• Operate one or more types of material transfer vehicles, such as loaders, skid steers, or conveyor belts.
• Ensure the safe operation of the equipment, prioritizing the safety of themselves and others around them.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicles, including cleaning, greasing, and checking fluid levels.
• Communicate effectively with other crew fmembers to coordinate material movement and achieve daily goals.
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
• May assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating similar equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition, able to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Additional Skills (may be beneficial depending on the industry):
• Knowledge of construction materials and procedures (for construction settings).
• Experience with specific attachments or equipment used in the industry.
• Understanding of basic maintenance principles.
