We are looking for a network engineer to jump in and hit the ground running. This is for a well established defense company in Virginia area.

Role:
Work on network security and infrastructure
Help with installations and maintenance
Plan, review, and evaluate information for the network system and any modifications needed
Install/test networks to support the system
Help train any customers or end-users as needed
Upgrade, integrate, install, configure, test, and maintain communication networks software and hardware that uses wireless, fiber optics, coaxial, and copper (twisted pair) broadband and baseband
Operate, maintain, and configure voice, data, and video routers, hubs, switches, and bridges to interface with commercial, DoD, and other networks; control and configure internal routers, switches, and network infrastructure devices
Deliver presentations to Customers on LAN/WAN design and operation
Provide network infrastructure support (technical control) including point-to-point installs and maintenance, long-haul circuit management and operations, loading circuit encryption equipment
Qualifications:
A college degree from an accredited university
Background in Microsoft products, database query like mySQL and Cisco/Juniper families of products
Experience of Linux operating systems, like RedHat-based distributions (CentOS)
Experience with command line interfaces and basic system administration tasks
Understanding of network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SSH etc
Scripting with Bash or Python
Ability to work with Linux security principles, firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), encryption, and secure remote access methods
Understand Docker
Ability to use mathematical equations for problem solving
Valid driver's license and passport
Desired certifications: CCNA, CCIE, CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIA-ENT, NSX-V/T, OCSA, CWNA, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+
