We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, proactive writer who can translate specialized IT system information into clear and concise language for the lay person in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Working with data collection SMEs and system developers to gather, analyze, and compose complex technical information; conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology
- Translate technical information into clear and readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel; organize material and write descriptively according to establish standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material
- Develop communications materials for publications, internet, strategic initiatives, user manuals, training materials, installation guides, white papers, reports, etc.; develop, write, and edit functional descriptions, system specifications, special reports, or any other customer deliverable or document
- Provide technical writing support and decipher directions provided on scripted storyboards, specifications, et cetera
- Review documents for technical accuracy in accordance with applicable regulations
Skills Required
- Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant writing experience (DoD related experience a plus) is required
- Ability to read and understand SQL database programming language
- Proficiency in navigating DBVisualizer and Amazon Redshift database environment and schemas
- Experience creating infographics used in documentation products to aid reader understanding
- Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000/Year, DOE
- Additional relevant experience includes:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with agile programs and knowledge of IT and software development
- Experience with DoD acquisition
- Experience with JIRA or Collibra
- The ability to maintain the proper security clearance and U.S. citizenship is required
- Knowledge of PySpark and Figma is a plus
