The Network Administrator will be responsible for the management/ maintenance/ upkeep and connectivity of wired and wireless networks supporting the Navy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job duties include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Provide the day-to-day management of active networks.
- Must be willing to provide on call coverage beyond normal working hours. This is not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must ensure all computers used for network monitoring and configuration receive most current patches and software upgrades.
- Configure network components in accordance with accepted internal and industry standards.
- Verify operation of configured items.
- Establishes the alarm thresholds, method of notification and any other parameters deemed appropriate for network monitoring.
- Must be able to develop and document processes for monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration of networks and network devices.
- De-install or reinstall hardware and perform preventative maintenance on hardware
- Work with base managers to support the program along with Tier III engineers.
- Maintain base access and credentials for accessing sensitive locations.
- Provide reporting on ticketing, status and inventory as requested.
- Forecasting maintenance and working with all navy clients to minimize system outages and downtime.
- Travel required to accomplish all duties and responsibilities.
- Must be able to certify in using Articulating Man Lift and be comfortable installing, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment from this platform.
