C1 Gov is looking for a skilled Fiber Tester to conduct specialized testing and quality assurance for fiber optic infrastructure within a U.S. Air Force network modernization project. The Fiber Tester will ensure all fiber connections meet strict government standards, utilizing advanced testing equipment to verify performance and integrity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with experience in fiber testing and certification on fiber testing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fiber Testing and Verification:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of fiber optic cables, using industry-standard testing equipment to ensure compliance with performance and quality standards.
- Document and report test results, identifying and troubleshooting any issues with fiber optic connections.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all fiber installations adhere to government requirements, assisting with inspections and audits.
- Provide recommendations for remediation or replacement when fiber connections do not meet quality standards.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on fiber optic connections, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Support installation teams as needed with fiber optic layout and connectivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fiber optic testing or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Certifications:
- Advanced certification on fiber optic testing equipment (e.g., OTDR or equivalent).
- CompTIA Network+ preferred.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret-level clearance required.

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in fiber testing equipment and protocols, with knowledge of network infrastructure.
