Position Overview
C1 Gov is seeking a detail-oriented Network Technician to assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure for a U.S. Air Force network modernization project. The Network Technician will be responsible for supporting wired and wireless network operations, ensuring quality and reliability across Base Area Networks. This position requires a highly organized technician with experience in network support and a Security+ certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Installation and Configuration:
- Assist in setting up and configuring network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform network setup and adjustments as directed by the Lead Engineer, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to government standards.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Conduct regular network maintenance checks, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and repair hardware as needed.
- Provide technical support to resolve network-related problems, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain clear, detailed records of all installations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Submit daily status reports and escalate complex issues to the Lead Engineer for resolution.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in network support, maintenance, or IT infrastructure.
- Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+ certification required.
- CompTIA Network+ or CCNA preferred.
- Security Clearance: Active Secret-level clearance required.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of network hardware and protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy in installations, configurations, and documentation.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and reporting skills.
