  • Safety Critical Function: Develop and maintain a list of safety critical functions for weapon and aircraft interface software. Ensure for initial certification of weapons that the safety critical functions have been thoroughly analyzed, ground and flight-tested and artifacts have been delivered to the F-35 JPO by the OEM and weapon suppliers. For revisions of aircraft and/or weapon software, ensure safety critical functions regression testing has been performed and artifacts delivered by the OEM and weapon suppliers.

For operational test and fleet release, communicate the mitigations to the deficiencies in the Interim Flight Clearances/Military Flight Releases and/or the known issues in Flight Series Data employment modules. Once the deficiencies have been resolved, remove the mitigations in the flight clearance/FSD.
  • Maintain Software Sustainment Funding for all weapons: Coordinate and synchronize aircraft integration activities with Weapon Program Offices' roadmaps. Track all weapon software updates via spreadsheets and provide recommendations for testing required for updated certifications with new weapon software.
