NewGen is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to be responsible for a variety of engineering and operational assignments related to the designing, deploying, and efficient and optimal operation of data center network environments across multiple sets of enterprise-level IT Systems. The Sr Network Engineer directly supports and oversees the Networking team’s operations and maintenance (O&M) of deployed operational solutions backed by Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed, and SolarWinds. The Sr Network Engineer serves as the highest internal escalation tier for the Networking O&M team providing advanced troubleshooting support and guidance to rapidly assess and remediate challenges in the networking arena that arise.
Key Network Engineering Skills:
Cisco hardware - Catalyst, Nexus
Cisco OS - IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, ACI
Cisco Routing and Switching - BGP, EIGRP, LACP, HSRP, OSPF, QoS, STP, vPC, VRF, VSS
Must have a solid understanding on data center practices, high availability, redundancies, such as:
• VPC – Virtual Port Channel
• ACI - Application Centric Infrastructure (spine/leaf) topologies (Cisco is known for this in proactive multi-cloud networking/cloud area networking) or
• VSS – Virtual Switching System – it is a Cisco proprietary technology
