R&P is looking for a motivated and experienced engineer who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We are looking for a PSA Chief Engineer ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
Responsibilities
Function as the lead engineer for HM&E installations accomplished during Post Shakedown Availabilities (PSA).
Provide engineering, design, and technical expertise with DDG 51 Class HM&E systems, to include issues that arise in connection with or during Post-Delivery test and trials.
Resolve HM&E engineering design and technical issues of the HM&E portion of the PSA Work Package.
Review design documentation such as drawings, ship specifications, shipyard deliverables and verify equipment installations and drawings are in accordance with contract requirements in order to support PSA execution and Final Contract Trials (FCT).
Review comments on Planning Yard issued work items and make recommendations for work item modification.
Perform ship checks during new construction to determine and confirm as built conditions in order to support the drafting of statements of work for work item specification development.
Analyze and incorporate lessons learned from ship construction applications and previous PSA work installations into future PSA work items or ECPs.
Participate in PSA Planning Conferences/Reviews, FCT, PRT, trial card screening conferences, and PSA 50% conferences.
Qualifications
Minimum experience: 10 years professional experience
Degree: Bachelor's degree, or preferred experience: 10+ years of demonstrated naval or marine engineering ship design and construction experience, with five (5) or more years of directly related experience with Post Shakedown Availabilities.
