Position Description
The RF mission data developer is a member of the Effects Deployment TPO (FXTPO) Mission Support Cell (MSC) responsible for programming information required by the LRASM RF seeker to identify and engage maritime targets. The RF data files become part of a Mission Data Package (MDP) that is delivered to USN, USAF, and FMS warfighters in order to employ LRASM against threat ships.
Duties of the RF mission data developer include: Research intelligence sources to identify RF emitters and related systems on threat ships of interest. Also research RF databases such as EWIR, CED, and EDNA to collect data required to characterize those RF emitters. Sensorize RF emitter characteristics to be compatible with the LRASM RF Sensor and program these into appropriate databases. Operate software tools to convert threat emitter characteristics into data files suitable for use in tactical weapons or simulation test environments. Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) to review and approve RF emitter characterizations performed by fellow team members. Coordinate with members of the FXTPO Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) team to develop and execute test cases of RF mission data files in the LRASM Kill Chain Testbed (KCT) and/or Signal Processor-in-the-Loop (SPIL) test environments. Review results from the simulation tests to verify the RF data files are compatible with the missile RF Sensor, flight software, and produce the expected performance against threat systems.
Support system engineers within the FXTPO and at contractor sites in continued development of the LRASM weapon system and its RF Sensor. Generate mission data files for use in captive carry or free flight test events and review RF Sensor data collected in these events to evaluate weapon seeker performance.
Experience Required
4-7 Years
Minimum Salary
