Overview
As the Principal Cost Analyst, you will perform a wide range of duties from building oral/written presentations for high ranking acquisition leaders to performing in-depth complex analyses with a high degree of quality and accuracy.

As the Principal Cost Analyst, you will perform a wide range of duties from building oral/written presentations for high ranking acquisition leaders to performing in-depth complex analyses with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, assess, and develop cost estimates for analytical studies and assessments of future concepts, existing programs, and architectures
- Provide insights to senior decision makers to inform and recommend acquisition and budget decisions
- Issue papers/resource management decisions (RMD), Program Objective Memorandum (POM) inputs and project execution IAW DoD 5000.4-M, AFI 65-508, and Air Force Cost Risk and Uncertainty Analysis Handbook
- For each cost estimate, the Senior Cost Analyst shall assess risks and apply uncertainty to cost estimates
- Align Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements IAW MIL-STD-881
- Use Government-approved cost tools/software such as Launch Vehicle Cost Model (LVCM), ACE-IT, SEER, and PRICE
- Apply data from Government-approved published databases (e.g. USCM) and existing program actual cost data to develop data driven estimating methodologies (including both software cost estimating and hardware cost estimating methodologies) whenever possible; and document the estimates
- You will also develop and apply statistical/mathematical methodologies and techniques in developing cost models (eg, cost factors, cost estimating relationships, etc.)
Skills Required
- At least 12 years of experience performing cost estimating activities for aircraft and/or spacecraft applications in the commercial, industrial, and/or military arena, of which 8 years shall include duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs.
- Must also have 6 years of Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) experience.
- Deep understanding of mission critical aspects of acquisition and DoD space programs/projects
- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force, Space Command, processes and procedures is highly desired
- Knowledge of Air Force and Space Acquisition terminology is desired
- Bachelor's degree relevant to their area of expertise and desired in the following: Management, Business, Economics, Finance, and Accounting
- Professional Certification such as PE, PMP, ICEAA, and EVP is not required but highly recommended
- Active Secret security clearance required
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000/year, DOE
