Job Description:

Bennett Aerospace, Inc. has an opening for a highly motivated Business Analyst in support ofa Federal Law Enforcement client located in Arlington, Virginia. The successful candidate will perform analysis and related support functions relevant to strategic planning and assist with performance measurement and tracking performance related metrics. The candidate will also conduct research and provide analysis on the financial and economic impact of regulations on the government, businesses, and industries, identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings to senior management, and utilize a set of tasks and techniques to work with stakeholders/team in order to understand the structure, regulations and operations of the government and recommend solutions that will enable the government achieve its goals.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities:

Identifies and analyzes system requirements and defines project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
Research, interpret and analyze applicable laws and regulations to ensure it accurately reflects the policies of the organization/agency.
Develop reports and make recommendations to improve business processes, procedures, and performance.
Assist in performing analyses and interpretation of cost and expense variances.
Compiles and analyzes financial information.
Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures information has been recorded accurately.
Compile and construct data to interpret the impact of compliance with budgetary/financial changes. Evaluate the effect of existing policies and government programs.
Conduct research on a wide range of economic matters in support of the Diversion Control Division's regulatory and policy development activities.
Perform financial forecasting and reconciliations relevant to department budget and strategic planning function.
Develop reports and make recommendations to improve business processes, procedures, and performance.
Assist in performing analyses and interpretation of cost and expense variances.

Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports and presentations.
Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings.
Coordinates performance metrics gathering, analysis, and reporting activities.
Actively participate in the processes and methods changes and reviews existing policy or suggested changes for impact in implementation and application.
Participate in establishing and coordinating program plan requirements and interface with each section/office. Evaluate, monitor, and report performance against plans to ensure guidelines meet appropriate procedures and policies.
Work independently to review and prepare documents addressing unconventional issues and/or problems affecting the program; work to identify trends and areas for improvements in procedures.
Participate in project performance team meetings on behalf of the job unit in order to provide ideas, methods or processes for unit/department performance improvement.
Develop and maintain spreadsheets, tracking databases, reports, and presentations; generate and document information for statistical purposes; utilize government database systems and word processing software; compile files on initiatives for OD personnel as requested.
Creates briefings for senior management outlining changes or modifications on relevant laws, regulations and policies.
Participate in discussions, meetings, conferences, and conference calls with agency administrative, subject matter experts, and technical personnel, and other federal agency officials.
Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience required.
Strong technical and analytical skills and experience with data management programs and PC based applications.
Intermediate to advanced skills in manipulating data in Excel


Abilities and Skills:

Able to work as part of a team or independently with minimal direction.
Detail-oriented, flexible, and have strong organizational skills
Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power-Point, Access, and Outlook), technology systems, and communications tools (Adobe).
Strong oral and interpersonal skills Professional demeanor
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume, tight deadline environment.
Ability to multi-task; be observant and anticipate operational needs
Excellent problem solver and able to handle difficult situations
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations


Security Requirements:

Security Clearance Level: Public Trust

Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability requirements.
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
Successful Pass of Bennett Aerospace Background Investigation, Drug Screening and Credit Check.
