Position Title: Security Specialist II (PERSEC) Location: Fort Belvoir, VA
Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility Reports to: Program Manager

Job Description: Advantage SCI, LLC is currently seeking a qualified motivated candidate to fill a full-time
Security Specialist II position in support of our DoD customer at Fort Belvoir, VA. The position includes a
variety of personnel security actions involved in supporting the Government's Security Reliability Program
for the determination of personnel suitability for sensitive positions. You will be facilitating and supporting
the Government's in executing the organization's PERSEC and INFOSEC programs, to include:
Summary of Duties:
• Record and monitor required changes in JPAS for status, incidents, and information effecting SAP
and SCI access. Receive and forward reports of violations, infractions, and derogatory information;
Responsible for handling personnel security records with the highest degree of discretion.
• Assist Government in the conduct of security inquires and the preparation of reporting to the
Central Adjudication Facility (CAF)
• Review submissions for accuracy, completeness and cross-reference with existing security-related
information; ensure relevant, potential derogatory information is properly listed
• Make recommendations of individuals with access to classified involved in an incident/offense
considered derogatory in nature
• Prepare metrics/status reports on investigations, annual reporting requirements, polygraphs, and
other elements of a centralized internal database
• Maintain office classified holdings IAW DoD (INFOSEC) standards for marking and handling.
• Support the entry/exit inspection of equipment from/to secure areas
• Support security spot checks activities; assist in the establishment and enforcement of internal
SCI, SAP, and collateral security policies and procedures
• Assist in the review of results of investigations and coordinate security requirements for
individuals under the customer security cognizance
• Assist in gathering, preparing, and managing data from worldwide agencies in support of
investigations, operations, projects, and DOD and other Government agency requirements
• Coordinate, schedule, and record polygraph program activities
• Provide permanent/visit certifications of all clearance/access types
• Conduct, process, and record security indoctrination, debriefings, and NDAs
• Receive, review, and process requests for investigations, security clearances using eQIP; perform
preliminary checks of available databases; determine current clearance and access levels, current
status of investigations, and the possibility of unfavorable information
• Use judgment and knowledge of regulations to recommend appropriate courses of action
• Verify the status of investigations/actions and complete the necessary paperwork for the US
Government to issue interim clearances
• Perform a variety of additional duties related to SCI and SAP requirements such as prepare and
process interim SCI access, IC badge requests, conducting/recording in- processing briefs, outprocessing/debriefs, foreign travel briefs, Department of the Army Cryptologic Access Program
(DACAP) briefs, and regular security refresher briefings

• Coordinate for and issue documentation related to signature reduction to maintain strict
accountability of documents; provide advice and assistance to develop signature reduction
concepts, issue/cancel and transfer related documentation as individuals in/out process.

Minimum Requirements:
• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
• Minimum HS diploma
• Must have minimum total of five (5) years' experience in government security as it relates to the
NISPOM, DoD 5200, 5105, and 5205 series of publications and Army implementing instructions
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience with MS Office Suite and JPAS
• Certification Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Certification Program or Center
for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) or ASIS as Security Professional
• Willing to take and pass CI Poly as needed
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Highly desirable to have the ability to learn and proficiently utilize other databases
• Valid Driver’s License

• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily
• Able to lift to 25 pounds occasionally
• Able to walk long distances without assistance
