Mid Software Developer
*** This position requires a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility ***
Position Description:
The Mid Software Developer leads and oversees the design, development, configuration, enhancement, implementation, and maintenance of software-based applications and tools. The Mid Software Developer uses development and test environments to develop, test, and debug software solutions before implementing them in production. The Mid Software Developer works with users, analysts, and other project teams to understand needs and requirements and implements solutions to improve and enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Mid Software Developer serves in a team lead function and instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of development team members. The Mid Software Developer provides technical consultation, training, and support to other IT staff, as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and developing new software products/tools and configuring/customizing existing software.
Work with users to gather requirements, identify new functionality, optimize current features, develop prototypes, test functionality, and conduct training on new software updates and changes.
Gather user feedback on software applications, evaluate software functionality and effectiveness, and address issues of performance, compatibility, integration, and ease of use.
Assist in evaluating and recommending new software applications, tools, and technologies, and software development, integration, and testing tools.
Ensure proper software configuration management and code documentation.
Assist in developing and updating software technical documentation and user manuals.
Be able to operate in a dynamic project environment and meet project timelines.
Lead, manage, and oversee a team of software developers.
Manage project schedules and tasks in completing deliverables and work products.
Communicate work planning, progress, and issues in a timely manner.
Understand and apply client processes and procedures in completing work efforts.
Interface with government staff, team members, and other contractors in completing work.
Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement, innovation, best practices, and risk management.
Provide timely and thorough input to the Project Manager for regular status reporting.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree.
IAT Level 1 certification a plus.
Knowledge and Experience
6 years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience using Java, JavaScript, Perl, Bash Shell Script, Powershell, Angular JS, and Java Server Pages (JSP).
Experience supporting intelligence systems is a plus.
Experience with the WebTAS application is a plus.
